BATON ROUGE, LOUISIANA
Designed to be constructed on an abandoned dock located close to downtown Baton Rouge, Louisiana, this Multiplex Cinema was conceived as a reaction to the 'half-hearted' attempts of most modern cinemas to create an 'other-worldly' experience through the liberal use of garish neon and geometrically-patterned carpeting.
Instead, this "Cinema-Dock" consists of a 'pure' glass cube, housing the 'public areas' of the multiplex such as concession stands, ticketing and a restaurant, which is surrounded by irregular strips of Corten Steel, which wrapped the 'fantasy' perfection of the cube form like weeds growing from the batture below.
